Weser, Half-Timbered House, World Heritage
Cyclists are as much a part of Höxter's townscape as the half-timbered houses of the Weser Renaissance, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Corvey and the Weser. While important trade routes used to intersect in Höxter, today there are several regional and national cycle routes. The Weser Cycle Route and the European Cycle Route R1 are certainly among the best-known long-distance cycle routes. Höxter is almost a must-stop for many long-distance cyclists, not least because of the good accommodation options.
Sleep in Höxter and discover the Weserbergland. It is not only the great hosts and the historical ambience with numerous important Weser Renaissance buildings that make Höxter attractive for cyclists. Due to its location in the middle of the Weser Uplands, the town is also an ideal starting point for day trips in the region. The Weser Cycle Route can be cycled on both sides here, so you can enjoy wonderful circular tours along the river.
