The Weserbergland and the Teutoburg Forest are recognised as beautiful hiking regions and Höxter is an ideal starting point for the best tours. Certified as a "dream tour" by the German Hiking Association, the most beautiful circular route close to the town is certainly the tour "On the trail of the water dragon". From the cliffs of the Ziegenberg and Brunsberg mountains, you can enjoy marvellous views of the Weser valley and the Solling. In the surrounding district, the adventure areas of "exquisite nature" provide variety at every turn. But it is also not far to many great circular hiking trails in the Solling, Weserbergland or Teutoburg Forest.
