Openings

Opening Hours for the Information Center and Rock Climbing:

Summer Season (April–October): Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Winter season (November–March): Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Last ticket sales 30 minutes before closing.
Changes due to weather conditions, especially in winter, are possible at any time, even on short notice.

By bus
On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays during the summer season, the tourist line 792 departs from Detmold every hour. The bus stop is located approx. 350m from the rock formation at the Externsteine parking lot - near the information center. On weekdays you can take the 782 line from Detmold via Horn to Bad Meinberg. Bus stop: Horn or Externsteine.
